The Vineyard
The Vineyard, covering 26 acres, was planted in April 1986. It is mostly south facing and some 60ft above Sea level. The soil is a clay, silt loam overlying greens and and is very free draining whilst retaining sufficient moisture for the vines' requirements. Being surrounded by hills, our valley situation is very warm in Summer and well protected from the south-westerly winds. Our slopes allow better frost drainage in the Spring, which protects our newly budded vines. We feel that we have a very good environment in which the vines flourish and indeed we have one of the highest Sun/hour ratios in the United Kingdom. Why not come and visit us. You are welcome to taste the wines, tour the Vineyard at your leisure we want you to have a memorable visit, an enjoyable tasting and an increased knowledge of English wines.
