Wine Production

Our grapes are normally picked in Spetember or October, depending on the weather.

The grapes are brought into the Wet Room, at the rear of the winery, where they are destemmed and crushed by the destemmer. The resulting pulp is then pumped straight into our 1.5 ton press where the contents are compressed to extract the juice, this process takes approximately 2hrs per press full. The juice from the press is pumped into large stainless steel tanks where it is fermented, fined, blended and filtered, usually over a period of 3 to 4 months.

We produce our own estate cider and apple juices using the Voran apple press situated next to the grape press.

The bottling line we purchased for the winery was once used to bottle Harvey's Bristol Cream Sherry in Bristol.
